Russia has not exactly been the epitome of a healthy economy for quite some time but apparently, times are getting awfully tough as one KHL veteran was caught stealing equipment from his team. <h2>KHL Veteran Bogdan Potekhin Caught Stealing, Released By Team</h2> Bogdan Potekhin, a Russian hockey player who has spent his whole career in Russia, was dropped by his VHL team today after it was revealed that he had been stealing hockey sticks from the team. Bogdan has been playing in Russia's 2nd tier pro league, the VHL, this year after playing nearly 400 games in the country's top league. Russian media site Sport24.ru revealed how Potekhin was caught. <q>...the management of the club playing in the All-Russian Hockey League ( VHL ) caught the striker stealing sticks from the team locker room. According to the source, the player was identified after the viewing of recordings from video cameras.</q> Potekhin was on of Sokol Krasnoyarsk's top scorers this season as he put up 22 points in 26 games with the team. Additionally, he served as one of the team's alternate captains.
