There was only one file left on Kent Hughes' desk before he went on summer vacation, and that was Jesse Ylonen's contract extension. It's now a done deal. The Canadiens have just announced the Finn's contract extension. It's a one-season, two-part contract. Kent Hughes gives himself options for Laval, given the number of forwards the CH has. That's probably why it's only a one-season contract and why it took so long to settle. Ylonen clearly wanted an NHL-only contract, and that's understandable.

The Canadiens agree to terms on a one-season, two-way contract with forward Jesse Ylönen.#GoHabsGohttps://t.co/NdnvQVYEqu- Canadiens Montréal (@CanadiensMTL) July 31, 2023
