Sad development from Florida, as we learn from informant David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, that young Florida Panthers goalie Spencer Knight is leaving the organization temporarily.

He has been placed in the NHL and NHLPA's player assistance program.

Without going into false speculations, let's remember that it is the same program that Carey Price had integrated at the beginning of last season.

The 21-year-old American netminder was the 13th overall pick in the 2019 draft, just two spots ahead of Cole Caufield.
