Matt Duchene with the Canadiens: the forward makes a major revelation

Matt Duchene had a great time in Colorado and Nashville. However, his time in Ottawa was not without controversy, not least because of the cab story and the bad words he spoke to his head coach at the time.

But that's all behind him now. In 2019, rumors had it that the forward would sign a contract with the Canadiens, but he decided to go to Nashville. We never found out how close Duchene really came to coming to Montreal.

To be perfectly clear, we think it's a good thing Matt didn't come to Montreal, but we're curious to know how close it was.

According to Duchene, it was very close.

The Habs were his 2nd choice, so if a deal hadn't been possible with the Predators, he'd still be a member of the CH.
