One of the most frequent reoccurring stories this year in the NHL is the Patrick Kane Sweepstakes. The NHL legend is attempting to come back after hip resurfacing surgery and several teams have been linked to him in one way or another. Now we might finally know where he will sign.
Kane Wants To Play For The Detroit Red Wings
Reportedly, several teams are still in on Kane. However, it has now been reported that Kane's number one spot is the Detroit Red Wings.

The Red Wings have been in Kane rumors but they have not gotten as much attention as other teams like the Panthers and Leafs. However, it has been reported that one of Kane's top priorities is winning, and the Red Wings certainly look poised to go on a deep playoff run. One area Detroit has struggled with so far though has been the powerplay, something Kane could potentially help fix. For one, Kane could be reunited with former teammate Alex DeBrincat. We already know that those two players have a ton of chemistry together. At the very least, we know Kane is 'strongly considering' the Red Wings. Friedman talking Patrick Kane and Red Wings on TJMS: «There's a lot of people who seem to think that he's if not leaning that way, he's definitely, strongly considering Detroit. I can't say 100% but there's definitely a lot of noise out there»

Kane Sweepstakes Coming Down To The Wire
At this point, we are well past the time when we thought we would know where Kane would be playing. However, repeated delays seem to have made the process drag on for much longer than anticipated. Perhaps Kane is feeling indecisive.

At this point it seems like it might be between the Stars, the Red Wings, and the Panthers. Of the three, Detroit may be the favorite but it is hard to say for certain. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
