The Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames have seemingly been linked all summer long, and now, one insider has revealed that a blockbuster deal could be imminent.
A blockbuster swap
According to Eklund of Hockey Buzz, the Flames and Maple Leafs could be making a deal soon, with new General Manager Brad Treliving interested in adding some of his former players. The Leafs are interested in Hanifin and Mangiapane. The Flames are keen on Knies, Nylander, Liljegren, and a few prospects... Those are the names I've heard. Chances are we aren't talking about all those names, but some combination of them. While both teams have been linked to a blockbuster deal with some team or another all summer long, this one makes more and more sense when you look into it, and a potential deal could be great for both parties.
Playoff contenders
As Eklund mentioned, not all the players involved would be part of a deal, but given Nylander's links to Calgary, the Flames intentions of moving on from Noah Hanifin and the wild card of Knies and Mangiapane, this potential deal becomes very interesting. There would be many moving pieces in this trade, but ultimately, it appears it would be some form of Nylander to Calgary along with Timothy Liljegren for Noah Hanifin, draft picks and potentially the inclusion of Knies and Mangiapane. So, what type of deal would you make if you were on both sides of this potential blockbuster?

As Read on House of Hockey - RUMOUR: Blockbuster Trade in the Works Between Two Canadian Teams
