Team Canada scandal: Major development as NHL verdict looms

We eagerly await the details and sanctions to the players involved in the Team Canada 2018 scandal. The NHL's radio silence on the subject is increasingly worrying, but it won't be long now.

Indeed, Martin Leclerc gave more information this morning. Criminal charges will be laid, and the NHL will have no choice but to follow suit if it doesn't want to lose face.

"And just last week, Quebec police sources told Radio-Canada that Ontario police were preparing to lay charges and that it was a matter of days."

The independent investigation into the matter was completed in June. In other words, Gary Bettman and the NHL have been in possession of the details for two months, and they still haven't budged. At the time of writing, we know that this is now imminent and that five players are expected to receive sanctions.
