After the NHL Combine, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the top player for the Habs is young Will Smith. Kent Hughes praised his maturity and hard work, and even texted his parents to express his appreciation for what he saw. That says a lot about Hughes' infatuation with Smith. The bad news is that the Sharks also seem to have been seduced by the American. So much so, in fact, that they've offered him a guided tour of San Jose. Rumor has it that Smith is entitled to a guided tour of the city of San Jose. He seems to be the player the Sharks are targeting. In such a scenario, the Chicago Blackhawks would have drafted Connor Bedard, the Anaheim Ducks would have set their sights on Adam Fantilli and the Columbus Blue Jackets would have claimed Leo Carlsson. - Via TVA Sports Obviously, if this is the scenario, Hughes and his team would have to draft Matvei Michkov or another player ranked higher. We know that the CH compares Ryan Leonard to the Tkachuk brothers, and they consider David Reinbacher to be the best defenseman of the entire draft. But there's a question to be asked. Do the Sharks want to trade with the CH for the 4th and 5th picks? Maybe they want to get another pick from the Habs (the Panthers' 1st, for example) and are doing everything they can to get Hughes to take the bait? We'll find out on June 28. Source : TVA Sports
