Selected 31st overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Logan Mailloux has come a long way to get to where he is today, signing his first professional contract with the Habs. Kent Hughes explained why the young defenseman is under contract and he feels it is well deserved. Speaking on Hockey 360 on RDS, Stephane Leroux mentioned that he spoke to several NHL scouts and that in 2021, Logan Mailloux was perhaps ranked second among defensemen, just behind Owen Power, the first overall pick. Mailloux was the seventh defenseman to have his name called in the 2021 draft. The reasons for this are quite simple, as we all know his story and he himself had asked the Bettman teams not to select him that year.
