The Vancouver Canucks have had a relatively quiet summer, as the overhaul that some expected to see never came, and now, they'll look to make a playoff push in a crowded Western Conference.
A talented young group

After naming Quinn Hughes as the teams new captain, the Canucks roster is coming together, but with a tight salary cap, their roster is seemingly still in need of a move or two. Now, according to a report, it appears that a move is on the way, as a Canucks writer has predicted they are working the phones feverishly to make a big move ahead of the 2023-24 season. I think Canucks are aggressively trying to make a trade right now. Trying to move a body to create cap space...They are feverishly working the phones trying to move a body.

A big move coming?
With the likes of J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser and Connor Garland all potential trade chips, there's plenty that the team could be doing in order to give them flexibility going forward. Ultimately, this is a team that seemingly aren't ready for a deep playoff run, and if they can move one of their veterans for a young player and salary cap space, it makes perfect sense.
