BREAKING: Calgary Flames Claim Veteran Defenseman From Waivers

This afternoon waiver claims in the NHL were processed from yesterday's moves. As a result the Calgary Flames have now claimed a defenseman who was put on waivers by the Dallas Stars yesterday.
Flames Claim Veteran Defenseman From Waivers
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman announced this afternoon that the Calgary Flames had stolen a defenseman from the Dallas Stars. The Flames did so by claiming Joel Hanley off of waivers.

The Flames will now be getting a reliable depth defenseman to add to their NHL roster. Hanley is not one to jump into the play but is stout defensively.

The 32-year-old will now look to re-establish himself in a new city and help the Calgary Flames finish their season strong. As for the Dallas Stars, they could look to make a move for a fringe NHL defenseman to re-fill Hanley's spot.
