Devils Fans Make Serious Threats To Matt Rempe's Family Following Hit On Jonas Siegenthaler

Rangers rookie Matt Rempe was suspended four games today for elbowing Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler in the head.

Since the hit was made, many Devils fans have been going after the rookie and his family online, making inappropriate and dangerous remarks. Among the things Devils fans have resorted to, is making fun of Rempe's father, who passed away six years ago.





These posts are just an example of the kinds of things people have been saying since the hit.



While the hit was dangerous, and certainly illegal, that does not justify this kind of behavior online. As such, these fans should feel ashamed of themselves. Sadly, that is unlikely.

Fans Call On Spittin Chiclets To Denounce Attacks On Rempe

Some fans have now called on the Spittin Chiclets podcast to denounce these comments. They started to come out after the show covered the incident in last night's game. Presumably, many of these comments are being made by fans of the show.



So far, the show has not addressed this. It is not clear whether or not they intend to do so.
