Ivan Fedetov wasn't expected in the NHL anytime soon after a suspension, but now it appears he could be on the way sooner than anyone believed.

Just a year ago, Ivan Fedetov, a former seventh-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers was suspended by the NHL after the goaltender failed to report for the Flyers, instead opting to stay back in the KHL.

Now, in a dramatic twist, things have changed quickly, as Fedetov's KHL contract was recently terminated, with reports now emerging that he could be in the NHL, sooner rather than later.

Everyone's being very careful here for obvious reasons, but it is believed Fedotov is en route to beginning his NHL career for the Flyers. Wasn't aware until news broke this morning, but all sides have worked on a solution for the last few weeks.

The Flyers have reportedly just landed Alexei Kolosov in recent days, and now, they may have a second KHL goaltender coming this way as they look to solidify the position after the loss of Carter Hart.

Fedetov, a 27-year old has plenty of KHL experience, posting a 2.37 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 44 games played this season, and if things go as expected, he may make his NHL debut sometime this season.
