The NHL made a huge misstep before the season started when they attempted to ban pride tape. The decision lead to lots of backlash, including from some of the league's most important star players. The ban was quickly reversed after Travis Dermott became the first player to openly use tape in an NHL game. Since then, countless players have followed suit. Connor Bedard became the latest on Tuesday.

Bedard was among several Blackhawks players who used pride tape on Tuesday. Nick Foligno and Seth Jones were among the Blackhawks players who used the tape in warmups. Jones spoke as to what the night means to the organization despite the fact that they can't wear specialty jerseys anymore.

"All the players are are still happy that the organization is at least having a Pride Night. We're not wearing the jerseys, but I think it means more than that. I think if everyone believes in it, it's not just about the jersey at the end of the day."

The season has certainly been eventful for the Blackhawks rookie. He figures to be the easy favorite for the Calder trophy as rookie of the year considering that he leads all rookies in goals with 21 and points with 56. This is despite missing significant time this season when he broke his jaw.
