Sean Higgins is set to remain behind bars for another month, as the courtroom Judge has refused to allow him to leave on bond.

Sean Higgins, the New Jersey man, with charges against him arising from the terrible crash that resulted in the death of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, made his first court appearance Friday morning. The 43-year-old was accused of drunk driving and causing an accident that murdered the two brothers while on bikes.

Facing two counts of vehicular manslaughter, he is being held without bail. His next court date will be on October 15th. According to the arrest report, Sean Higgins said he drank five, maybe six beers before the August 29 crash.

Johnny Gaudreau had been an NHL star over the past two years with the Columbus Blue Jackets, while he as well as his brother Matthew had played a stint of college hockey at Boston College together in the past. The Gaudreau family were back in New Jersey for their sister's wedding, which was due to take place the following day.

It was also revealed that Sean Higgins is a member of the New Jersey National Guard and works for a drug and alcohol addiction treatment services company.
