Under his guidance, the Flyers have made a surprising leap forward and are now serious contenders in the Metropolitan Division.

Last night, the Flyers lost against the Washington Capitals, in a division-rival matchup. The Caps have two games in hand on the Flyers and are trailing four points behind. In this tense game, emotions ran high from the Flyers' bench.

With a few minutes remaining to the second period, Caps' John Carlson scored a goal to give his team the lead after a mistake from the young Flyers' player Bobby Brink.



A video was released in which we can see Tortorella in a highly emotional state lashing out on Brink.


Following that incident, Brink never stepped on the ice again. Tortorella was asked to reveal if he had thought of sending out Brink towards the end of the game, as the Flyers' were trailing behind, for him to get more experience.

The coach, who never shies away from speaking his truth, simply stated:
