The Calgary Flames proved last night that they are still committed to selling at the trade deadline. However, the team has now confirmed that they are not interested is trading one of their most important players.

New Jersey Devils Miss Out On Top Trade target

Markstrom was apparently one of the top targets for the New Jersey Devils. Notably, the Devils have struggled in goal in each of the past two seasons. It has been the biggest limiting factor the team has faced this season by far. They reportedly were the last team to ask the Flames about Markstrom.



Markstrom is 34 years old but has been in prime form this season. He has been a rare consistent bright spot for the Flames. He still has two years left after this one on his contract, each coming with a 6 million dollar cap hit.
