Rangers Forward Gets Almost Kicked Out For Accidental Hit

The Rangers played against the Columbus Blue Jackets last night and New York easily got the upper hand, winning 4-1.

In the game, a Rangers forward entered in a violent collision with Blue Jackets' star Johnny Gaudreau. The ref made a surprising decision after the incident.

Referees Almost Throw Out Trocheck From Game After Accidental Hit on Gaudreau

With only a few minutes remaining in the second period, Vincent Trocheck entered in a major collision with Johnny Gaudreau.

The referees called a major penalty on Trocheck after the play and reviewed the incident.

In the replay, at reduced speed, we can see that Trocheck tried to avoid the contact with Gaudreau, but couldn't make his way between his opponent and his teammate, Matt Rempe, who was passing by with the puck.


After the review, they cancelled the penalty and the Rangers got a powerplay, on which they scored on.

Following the game, even Gaudreau agreed with the Refs' call. Trocheck even went to the Blue Jackets' locker room after the game to check in on him, as they're good friends.
