The New York Rangers recently called up centerman Matt Rempe. The rookie has since made a name for himself as he can't stop dropping the gloves.

Rempe Drops The Gloves For Third Time In Five Games

The 21-year-old forward certainly has a knack for punching guys in the face. Since being called up a week ago today, he has gotten into five NHL games and with today's fight, he's now recorded fights in three of them.

Notably, Rempe also received a match penalty just 10 seconds into his third career game after he got Devils forward Nathan Bastian up high. That was just one of two games where he did not record s fight. Had he not been ejected so early in the contest, he may have recorded a fight in that one as well.

Rempe Loses Fight To Smaller Opponent

That being said, the rookie's enthusiasm for fighting may have dropped a bit today as he thoroughly lost the tilt to Mathieu Olivier, who is half a foot shorter. Olivier was able to land several significant blows, including some upper-cuts as Rempe struggled to do damage in return.

Only time will tell if Rempe will continue to fight at this rate. It would be difficult for him to do so though, as fighting in 60% of his games is a but unsustainable. That being said, the rookie has shown no signs of slowing down yet, so stay tuned for his next fight. For all we know, it could come later today.
