At this point in the season, every game is critical for the Penguins. However, fans noticed a concerning thing about last night's game, despite the positive result.

Penguins Fans Concerned After Shocking Attendance At Home Game

On what was supposed to be a night where the Penguins gave out Jagr bobbleheads, the attendance was shockingly bad. Perhaps this was due in part to the fact that the bobbleheads were stolen, but it could also indicate fan dissatisfaction with the team.

The seats at puck drop. Haven't seen much of that over the years.

This was just the Penguins second home game since the trade deadline where Kyle Dubas moved on from Jake Guentzel. It was the first move that is indicative of a rebuild, but the team has not committed to that direction yet.

Penguins Keep Slim Playoff Hopes Alive With Win Against Sharks

Every game is a must-win for the Penguins at this point. While the playoffs are seemingly out of reach, the players are unlikely to give up until they have been mathematically eliminated. Luckily, they helped their case last night by picking up the much-needed win over the league-worst Sharks.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ELVIS HAS JUST LEFT THE BUILDING!

The Penguins defeat the Sharks at home, 6-3.

It was a good night for the few fans that did show up as the Penguins took down the Sharks by a final score of 6-3. Still though, the win was not as convincing as it perhaps should have been as the Sharks came out with a strong first period. Luckily, the Penguins were able to respond, scoring on their only two shots in the 3rd period before adding an empty netter.

What comes next for the franchise is still uncertain. While a proper rebuild is likely in the team's best long-term interests, it feels like they are not willing to go that direction yet. Regardless, next season could be the last shot for this team as Crosby will be turning 37 and on an expiring contract. Be sure to stay tuned to see what happens next for the team.
