In 44 games for the Predators he has a 21-21-2 record, a .902 save percentage, and a 3.02 goals-against-average. Those numbers are a far cry from his career .917 save percentage and 2.63 goals-against. However, his price tag could still be more than what the Devils are offering in this trade. At this point Vanecek is more of a negative value asset and Holtz has not lived up to expectations for the Devils this season. Meanwhile, Saros still has a reputation as one of the best goaltenders in the league despite his downturn this season.
