Vladimir Bure is the father of two well-known NHL players: Pavel and Valeri Bure. He tragically died from a heart attack in the ocean while swimming.

Vladimir Bure was himself a star. He splashed around in the pool, having won four Olympic medals, one of silver and three of bronze, which led him to secure his positions among the very best in the world's sport arena. However, he was not confined to the edge of the pool. Bure also left a huge mark on hockey as a strength and conditioning coach with the New Jersey Devils, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2000 and 2003.

But above all of his achievements, Vladimir was proud to be the father of two NHL stars, Pavel and Valeri Bure. Pavel, more commonly referred to as the "Russian Rocket," was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and is one of the NHL's 100 Greatest Players as named by NHL.com. With two Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophies in hand, along with a Calder Trophy, Pavel made his mark on the Vancouver Canucks and later the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers.

While Valeri Bure did not rise to the same heights as his brother, he still had a respected career in the NHL. Skating a decade for clubs like the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, and Dallas Stars, he is known for being good on skates and putting in effort on the ice.

Yesterday, we lost Vladimir Bure, who had greatness in both the worlds of swimming and hockey and gave to us two of hockey's finest. But no doubt, his legacy lives on, not only through himself but even through his sons.

Rest in peace, Vladimir Bure. You will be missed.
