Paul Bissonnette stated publicly that he wants Sidney Crosby traded to the Colorado Avalanche, which sparked massive debate online about the Leafs and Oilers too.

Monday was a very bad evening for Sidney Crosby and the Penguins, losers on home ice in PPG Paints Arena to the Dallas Stars by a score of 7-1.

In fact, it was one of those nights that was real tough, where the Penguins let in six goals within the first period.

It just seemed that pucks were off right from the start of this decisive loss that became, in no time, a discussion point of online NHL fans and analysts.

Former NHLer and analyst Paul Bissonnette really set off the post-game discussion when he said that it might be time for Crosby to join the Colorado Avalanche.

Out of the blue, just like that, the fans were off on the side, with full-blown comments online debating each other with their take on whether Crosby should make a move, and if so, and where.

Many fans began saying Sidney Crosby should be traded to Edmonton to join Connor McDavid, while other were quick to throw Toronto in as the team of choice, where Auston Matthews could use Crosby's experience.

"Crosby to Leafs actually."

"Crosby on the Avs is like Whit or Biz on the Blues. Never gonna happen until the career is over," another fan opined.

"Crosby to Washington. The heater they're on to start the season + image him setting up Ovechkin with goal 895," one fan commented.

"There's no way he wants to stay on a team that's letting in 6 goals in the first period at home." a fan added.

"Na, send em to Washington to play with Ovie. What an ending that would be to their careers, think of all the possibilities," one fan wrote.

This was the most one-sided defeat this season for the Penguins and underlined how much difficulty the team is continuing to find.

Having been out of the playoffs now for two seasons, Pittsburgh hoped this season would begin to fix that trend.

But with only 14 points after 17 games, they sit seventh in the Metropolitan and beg speculation on if this year will be any different.

This is an unexplored frustration for Crosby, a player quite accustomed to success. With all the speculation regarding his future and that of the franchise's direction, Penguins fans and analysts alike are left wondering if this might be the period for a real shake-up.

The only way to find out whether it is just a blip on the radar or deeper in team problems is through more games.
