Several Cup contenders emerge as potential homes for Patrick Kane

Skeptics doubted Kane's ability to return to form, but he quickly proved them wrong, finishing the season with 20 goals and 27 assists in 50 games, nearly a point-per-game pace. Now, the offseason is here, and all eyes are on whether Kane will stay with the Red Wings.

Although Kane hasn't committed to returning, he hasn't ruled it out either. His close friend and teammate, Alex DeBrincat, hopes Kane will re-sign, and general manager Steve Yzerman has shown interest in offering a new deal. Kane's agent, Pat Brisson, is set to meet with Yzerman this week, and according to BetMichigan, the Red Wings have the best odds of retaining Kane at +115 (46.5% chance).

Other potential destinations include the Boston Bruins (+800, 11.1%), Dallas Stars (+1000, 9.1%), Florida Panthers (+1150, 8.7%), New York Rangers (+1400, 6.5%), and his hometown Buffalo Sabres (+1400, 6.5%). The Bruins and Avalanche need center depth more than wingers, making their fit less ideal. The Stars, however, could use Kane if Joe Pavelski retires or Matt Duchene becomes too expensive.

An intriguing yet unlikely option is a return to the Chicago Blackhawks, where Kane could mentor rising star Connor Bedard. While this remains a longshot, it's an interesting possibility as the offseason unfolds.
