Today, a report revealed a disgusting act by a former member of an Edmonton Oilers affiliate team named Justin Pender during a game in the Avalon East Hockey League. Today the hockey world has been shaken by an incident that involved former Bakersfield Condors player Justin Pender and a fan. The 36-year-old defenseman is currently playing in the AESHL (Avalon East Hockey League). During a recent game Justin Pender and the Clarenville Ford Caribous were playing the HGOE CeeBee Stars. The game was physical and ended up with both teams racking up a ton of penalties. The fight ended with Justin Pender being ejected from the arena. In the aftermath, Justin Pender was suspended for 3 games. It was also determined that the Mayor of the town where the game was played is considering banning both the fan and Justin Pender from the town going forward. Pender has received a three-game suspension from league officials. It remains to be seen exactly what will happen with Jason Pender going forward but it seems pretty clear that his actions that night were unacceptable. One has to wonder if he now might end up being let go by the team to avoid any further issues like this from happening going forward.
