The Edmonton Oilers may face an offer sheet on Philip Broberg this summer, and if that happens, the team reportedly have a plan in place. After being so close to the Stanley Cup, the Edmonton Oilers have been on a mission this off-season to upgrade their roster, but after spending all that money, it may cost them in another way. According to a recent report from Frank Seravalli, the team have now left themselves open to an offer sheet, with both Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg vulnerable, although it was the latter that Seravalli focused in on.

It would likely take a significant offer to pry Broberg away from Edmonton, but now a top insider has revealed the Oilers plans if this does indeed come to fruition. I don't think they'd walk away on [Broberg] just to get a 2nd rounder.

For Edmonton, there is a limit to which the team can go to keep Broberg, but even after his solid performances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he may not be worth that much for an opposing team to offer sheet at that level. Ultimately, all of this talk may be for nothing if no team takes the chance to make the first move, but if they do, expect the Oilers to put up a big time fight and not lose him for the return of a second-round pick.
