Last night the Florida Panthers secured their spot in the Stanley Cup Final with a Game 6 win after the game Paul Maurice warned Aleksander Barkov not to repeat a mistake the team made last year.

The Florida Panthers will head to the Stanley Cup Finals for a second season in a row. This time their series win came due to a goal from Vladimir Tarasenko clinching the game over his former team the New York Rangers.

Vladimir Tarasenko's first goal of the Eastern Conference Final is a massive one!

After their win, the Florida Panthers went to accept the Prince of Wales Trophy as the Eastern Conference Champions. Before captain Aleksander Barkov went to accept the trophy he was given strict instructions from Paul Maurice. Those instructions were to not touch the trophy.

These instructions come after last season the Florida Panthers also won the Prince of Wales Trophy but instead decided to touch it. They would then lose in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Vegas Golden Knights. This year the Panthers are trying to switch up the momentum and not touching the trophy is the first step in that.

The Panthers now await their Stanley Cup Finals opponent. With the Edmonton Oilers up 3-2 on the Dallas Stars things could be closed out tonight. If not we will all have to wait for a Game 7 before the matchup is determined.
