The Toronto Maple Leafs were without several stars in their round-one loss to the Boston Bruins. Today Brad Treliving announced the injuries suffered by those stars including Auston Matthews and William Nylander. Auston Matthews and William Nylander were both absent for several games during the Maple Leafs Stanley Cup Playoff run. Up to this point the injuries that kept them out were not completely confirmed by the team. Today that all changed when GM Brad Treliving spoke to the media and revealed all the details. First Brad Treliving addressed the Auston Matthews injury. He confirmed that while Auston Matthews did have a virus earlier in the series a head injury ultimately kept him out for more games. Treliving clarifies Auston Matthews injury. Picked up a virus after Game 2hit in Game 4, presented «head injury» issues. Was not cleared until Game 7.

As of now, it is still unclear whether or not Auston Matthews was in concussion protocol or dealing with something else. As for William Nylander, he was reportedly dealing with migraines which had been suggested earlier this week. Finally there is Joseph Woll who suffered a back injury to end Game 6 that prevented him from playing in Game 7. Injury updates from Brad Treliving: Auston Matthews -- became really sick after Gm 2, suffered a hit in Gm 4 that presented head injury issues William Nylander -- severe migraines Joe Woll -- sprained back Bobby McMann -- MCL knee sprain Connor Dewar -- shoulder surgery

A pair of other players in Bobby McMann and Connor Dewar dealt with injuries. It sounds as though the only player requiring significant medical attention into the offseason will be Connor Dewar who will have shoulder surgery. As the offseason progresses the focus can now officially shift to the team's head coaching search. After that is resolved all eyes will be on Brad Treliving once again to see what changes he makes to improve the team.
