In just a matter of hours after being fired from Toronto, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe is already drawing significant interest from rival teams. While the Maple Leafs failed to translate regular season success into a deep Stanley Cup run, Sheldon Keefe is considered a very respectable coach in the NHL. Unfortunately, that lack of playoff success however saw patience wear thin in Toronto, as he was officially fired on Thursday following a game seven loss to the Boston Bruins.

He may not be out of work for long however, as NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun has officially revealed that the New Jersey Devils are interested in Keefe as they continue their extensive coaching search. I do believe the New Jersey Devils will have interest in interviewing Sheldon Keefe as part of their coaching search

Despite lofty pre-season expectations, the Devils struggled to drag their talented roster into the playoffs, with Lindy Ruff being fired halfway through the season before interim coach Travis Green took the role in Ottawa. Now, they're unsurprisingly looking for a coach that can take Jack Hughes and this amazing lineup deep into the playoffs, so perhaps away from the media and the pressure in Canada, Keefe could finally show what he can do as a coach. The team are also interested in Craig Berube, who remains a candidate for the Toronto role, so there's plenty of change expected in the coming days in the world of coaching in the NHL.
