Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Matt Dumba is not expected to re-sign with the Lightning, to hit the free agent market on July 1st. Right after the trade between the Nashville Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning reuniting Ryan Mcdonagh for a pair of draft picks, the likelihood of Matt Dumba resigning with the Bolts practically resulted in a percentage of zero. Dave Pagnotta has confirmed our thesis with his tweet announcing that the former long tenured Minnesota Wild defenseman will be hitting the market. Somewhat obvious after the #GoBolts acquired Ryan McDonagh, but I've confirmed TB will not be bringing RD Matt Dumba back. He will hit the UFA market July 1.

Dumba, signed a one year deal with the Arizona Coyotes last summer, which he eventually got dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning in March during the NHL trade deadline. The defenseman put up a disapointing two points in 18 games with the Bolts, a reasonable statline given the cheap price they payed for him. At 29 years old, Dumba can still play hockey and provide a veteran prescence to a team in need such as the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks or the Nashville Predators. Perhaps a team looking for a right hand defenseman like the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs can make the rounds aswell. More details to come.
