Canucks 10th overall draft pick Vasily Podkolzin was stretchered off the ice after landing on his head and convulsing on the ice.

Podkolzin Strechered Off After Convulsions

During a 5-2 game against the Colorado Eagles, Vancouver prospect Vasily Podkolzin landed on his head following a questionable hit. While that is normally a scary scene in and of itself, everybody's fear rose exponentially after Podkolzin began to convulse on the ice.

Very scary situation. Middleton hit Podkolzin and he landed very awkwardly. Stretcher on the ice, it looked like Podkolzin was convulsing. Yikes

Podkolzin was stretchered off the ice which he was reportedly conscious for.

There was a brief close-up and it did appear like Podkolzin was convulsing as players from both teams called for medical help.

Podkolzin later provided an update to the fans letting everybody know that he was okay.

The game that had five minutes left in it was played out, with every player visibly unengaged. Thankfully, Podkolzin is alive and seemingly well at this moment. We do not know how much time he will miss but given the nature of the injury, any degree of time missed would not be surprising.

Podkolzin was the 10th overall pick in 2019 and played in 39 NHL games last year scoring 7 points along the way. He started the year in the AHL and was tearing the league up with five goals and seven points in six games.
