The Quebec forward completed his three-season entry-level contract and was looking to reach an agreement with the New York Rangers. It's now a done deal.

Laffy has signed a two-season deal paying him $2.235 million per season. There will be no offer sheet for him, and he will have two more years to prove himself worthy of the first overall pick in 2020.
