The least we can say is that it was a catastrophic day at work for the Montreal Canadiens today.

The club announced the loss of three regular players indefinitely in Jake Evans, Joel Armia and Juraj Slafkovsky and the case of Jonathan Drouin is uncertain for tonight.

In addition, Kent Hughes has placed Sean Monahan's name on the long-term injury list, which is not an optimistic scenario for his possible return anytime soon. So it's really not good news for the organization that wants to make money off of him by the trade deadline.

However, there was one piece of good news among all the bad news, as defenseman Michael Matheson will officially return tonight against the Winnipeg Jets.

Martin St-Louis will be able to count on the presence of one more veteran in his team.In 10 games this season, the 28 year old has scored one goal and five points.
