The duo of Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes is doing very well in Montreal right now. But according to information from Nick Kypreos, reported by Martin Leclerc on BPM Sports with Martin Lemay, Gorton might be getting bored in his role in Montreal. Rumor has it that he is feeling isolated in his role with the Habs right now and that he may be missing the action that comes with being a GM in the NHL. He could possibly accept a GM position elsewhere in the NHL if the opportunity presented itself.

This would not be good news for the Canadiens. Obviously, Kent Hughes has gained some experience as a GM. Would the CH necessarily need to hire a new VP of hockey operations? For now, it's just a rumor, but when you think about it, it could make sense. Gorton was used to being the GM, having a lot of power, negotiating trades, being involved in draft picks, negotiating contracts. Right now, Kent Hughes seems to be taking up a lot of space. That doesn't leave much for Gorton. So it's going to be interesting to follow that.
