Jonathan Drouin is fortunate, to say the least, to find himself in Colorado playing with his old friend Nathan MacKinnon. The two of them have made a name for themselves in junior, and they'll certainly be trying to do the same in the NHL. Unfortunately for them, their trio-mate Mikko Rantanen has suffered a lower-body injury, but there's enough depth on the team to temporarily make up for the loss. As far as Jonathan is concerned, Rantanen's misfortune makes him happy, so to speak. He's now transferred to the first power-play wave, even ahead of a certain Valeri Nichushkin. PP1 Johansen- Drouin- Makar- Lehkonen- MacKinnon PP2 Toews- Nichushkin- Tatar- Byram- Colton Drouin will have the chance to play on the first wave of one of the best power plays in the league, with Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar. It's a great way for Drouin to make his mark right from the start of his adventure with the Avalanche. A golden opportunity he absolutely must seize.
