It's a problem that has been going on for too long with the Montreal Canadiens, and even though the organization has changed management recently, nothing has changed in terms of the lack of transparency when it comes to talking about injuries.

A popular journalist covering the CH, Marc-André Perreault, is fed up with this situation and has spoken publicly about this ongoing and totally disturbing problem.

While appearing on the podcast "La Dose", the TVA Sports journalist clearly expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation.

"I can tell you that there is a lot of frustration.

It's not normal that I've been going on the air for a month and saying, I don't know about Sean Monahan. It's not normal. Joel Edmundson at the beginning of the season, it was complicated. Edmundson right now, it's complicated.

Arber Xhekaj, the guy points to his shoulder and walks around with a brace. They say upper body, indefinite. What's that? At some point you have to be serious! This is important information. In the case of Monahan and Edmundson, these are guys who are on the market!" - Marc-André Perreault

Perreault came to the following conclusion: the Tricolore consciously decides to hide information from the public.

"There are two options: either they are hiding information from us, or they are incompetent. I think it's the first option. I can't believe they are incompetent. Except that they are hiding information from us. And that's a problem." - Marc-André Perreault

These are pretty direct words against the organization, but we fully agree with what he says.

In the lack of transparency related to injuries, the Montreal Canadiens look like incompetents, when they don't seem to be able to reveal the right information publicly, trying to hide things that shouldn't even be hidden.

This results in situations that are completely incomprehensible, as was the case with Monahan and Edmundson this year.

However, the journalist does not attribute the blame to Chantal Machabée, who is the vice-president of hockey communications.

"Poor her, she can't go and fight with the medical staff either," Perreault mentios. The reality is this: we have information coming in small details or we have no information [at all], and that's a situation you don't see elsewhere in the National League." - Marc-André Perreault

This is a situation that will have to be addressed by the organization, especially since in today's hockey world, across the league, teams are clearly more transparent than the Habs at this level. There is a lot of work to be done on this internally, there is no doubt.

The relationship between the club and the media seemed to improve in the last few months, compared to the Marc Bergevin era. However, this situation is causing a huge step backwards and that's not good for anyone.
