Sean Monahan was given to the Tricolore this summer by the Calgary Flames, even though they gave an extra first round pick to get rid of him. So it's only natural that everyone thinks number 91 is not in the Habs' long-term plans. However, Monahan is finally healthy and it shows with his excellent start to the season. He cautions the Habs, however, that if the proposed return is good, it might be better to let him go. If the Canadiens could get a good return, in exchange for Monahan at the NHL trade deadline, it might be wiser to move on and not tie the team down with another hefty, long-term contract, at least at this point. - Montreal Hockey Now There's no doubt that the Habs are rebuilding and that many youngsters are growing right now.
