The Olympics has been a major success on the field thus far, but away from it, there's yet another controversy after so many already.

Field hockey is one of the most exciting sports in the 2024 Paris Olympics, and while the action on the field has been fantastic, away from it, one player from Team Australia has caused plenty of issues.

According to a report, Tom Craig of the Australian Hockey Team has been caught up in a whirlwind of drama after he was arrested for a reported crime after his team was eliminated from the event.

Despite being caught in the act of the crime and fleeing from police, he will reportedly escape criminal conviction, which is a massive shock and huge luck for the 28-year old Australian. After being released from custody, the Australian Olympic Committee released the following statement;

"He has apologised, shown remorse, he has owned up to his mistake, and we will support him if he needs help," said chef de mission Anna Meares.

"As a result, Tom will lose all his remaining Olympic privileges. He had already moved out of the Olympic Village, and I understand he was not intending to return for the Closing Ceremony. If he were, he would not be able to attend."

As of right now, it doesn't appear as though Craig will be in much more trouble in Paris with the law, but has been forced to leave the village and will no longer enjoy Olympic priviliges, with his future on the team certainly in jeopardy as well.
