According to a new report the Dallas Stars are under investigation for a potential major rules violation that occurred over the NHL's holiday break.

The last 24 hours have been horrendous for the Dallas Stars as last night Mason Marchment was rushed to the hospital with an injury.

The Stars' bad luck has continued this afternoon as the NHL has now launched an investigation into the organization and head coach Pete DeBoer.

According to multiple reports, there is a suspicion that the Stars held an optional practice on December 26th which is not allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

In the CBA December 26th is considered a mandatory off day where teams are not allowed to practice, travel, or even meet for hockey purposes.

Now that this report has come out from multiple sources the NHL and the Dallas Stars orgnization themselves have stepped in.

Over the next few days it will be interesting to hear from Stars players and coaches about the allegations against them as this investigation continues.

if the Dallas Stars are found to have been involved in any wrongdoing as an organization they could be subjected to major fines or even a potential lost draft pick depending on the NHL's ruling.
