Pierre-Luc Dubois tried to avoid a fight with Ryan Hartman last night after provoking him and failed, promptly getting beat up.

Pierre-Luc Dubois has gotten a bad reputation in the league, not for his play on the ice, but for how he is in the dressing room. After being traded several times throughout his career, he always seems to find his way into the doghouse with fans.

Now, it looks like he has found some dislike on the ice. During last night's game, Dubois provoked Ryan Hartman into a fight and then tried to chicken out. However, Hartman did not allow this and promptly beat up Dubois.

Clearly, Hartman had some bad blood towards Dubois and would not take no for an answer, as he dropped his gloves and started feeding him immediately. This sparked chaos on the ice, as a scrum broke out with all players jumping in.

Hartman was previously involved in a scandal this year when Cole Perfetti shared with the media that Hartman told him he intentionally high-stuck him during a game. This blew over fairly quickly, but it shows that Hartman takes the code of the game fairly seriously.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Hartman got supplemental punishment for this instigation, as Dubois clearly didn't want to be involved in the play. Fighting seems to be making a big comeback this year, though, as heavyweights are making a name for themselves again.
