DailyFaceoff founder and NHL insider Frank Serravalli dropped another bombshell on the Arizona Coyotes yesterday. Apparently, the team had not been paying their hotel bills at some point during the season.

The insider dropped this small piece of information on the dailyfaceoff live show yesterday. Unfortunately, he could not provide any further details about this situation. We therefor do not know how long this was going on and how many road games the Coyotes got away with this. As it is coming late in the season though, it is certainly possible the team has been delinquent a long time.

The Arizona Coyotes reportedly weren't paying their hotel bills earlier in the season

Seravalli also gave an update on the team's relocation to Salt Lake City yesterday. He revealed that the league has 'made significant progress' with a deal that would sell the team to Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith. However, the deal has not been finalized and it may still be some time before an official agreement is announced.

Sources tell Daily Faceoff that the NHL, Arizona Coyotes and Smith Entertainment Group have made significant and meaningful progress on an agreement that would see the Coyotes franchise sold and relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah... To date, no deal has been completed. There is much work to be done, and it's complicated and will involve many layers and lawyers. Stay tuned.

That being said, all signs seem to point to this truly being the end for the Coyotes in Arizona. However, Serravalli did suggest that current Owner Alex Meruelo may retain the right to an expansion team with the same branding. This might not be the end of the Coyotes after all.
