The Habs roster is somewhat intriguing heading into the upcoming campaign. There is a lot of depth on offense, some very good young prospects on defense and a question mark in front of the net. The defense is still the weakest part of the team on paper, with Joel Edmundson as the poster boy. It's simple, there is no top 2 at the blue line and no depth on the right side, as David Savard, Chris Wideman and Justin Barron will be splitting time. However, Kent Hughes has an interesting option on the free agent market, as defenseman Anton Stralman is still available. According to columnist Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, Hughes could even have Stralman on the team at a very modest salary.

Stralman would definitely solidify the right side of the defense, as well as provide depth and be a good mentor for the youngsters. Let's go Kent Hughes!
