Last minute waiver add of a surprising 27 year old goalie

The Vancouver Canucks announced today that they have put enigmatic goaltender Spencer Martin on the waivers.

The 27-year-old third round pick in 2013 showed great promise last year when he played six games in the NHL, posting a 1.74 GAA and .950 SV%.

Expectations were relatively higher this year, as he was supposed to be the backup goalie to Thatcher Demko, before everything fell apart in Vancouver.

This season, Martin is posting a very ordinary 3.99 GAA, while maintaining a .871 save percentage.
