BPM Sports' Midday Show host Maxime Truman gave us a heads up on a major piece of information involving Sean Monahan and the state of his injury.

The latter mentioned that his foot injury had turned into a groin and hip injury, which is extremely worrisome, given that the number 91 had surgery on both hips in recent years.

In fact, it was Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports who first reported the information. This means that the injury that has kept Monahan out of the game has become much more serious than originally thought.

See Renaud Lavoie's statement on the subject in an article on the TVA Sports website.

"He had a broken foot. But that's not why he's out right now. It's because he played with that injury, so the hip and groin made up for it. So instead of being out for two weeks, we're up to six! And it's not over yet! We are told that he is close to a return. But we've been told that for two weeks!" -Renaud Lavoie

The nature of his injury seems pretty clear, while there had been talk of a lower body injury for some time.

Here's hoping for Kent Hughes that Monahan is back before the trade deadline, if not, he'll have to rethink his plan by the trade deadline.

It would also be time for the organization to officially give their version of the 29-year-old veteran's health status.
