Last week, Kirby Dach was diagnosed with an illness, not related to covid. This condition has kept him out of the game since February 16.

Many wondered what was going on with him, as the illness did not seem to be resolving itself, even a week later.

However, the Montreal Canadiens organization has just made an important announcement about him, as we learned that medical tests and a thorough evaluation have determined that the symptoms were related to a lower body injury.

Dach suffered a major knee injury in the last few weeks when the CH played the Florida Panthers. Since this impact of the defenseman Radkos Gudas on the number 77, he began to miss almost all the practices, following this incident.

We can't confirm that it was a knee injury that caused Dach's uncommon health problem, as the Habs mention a lower-body injury, but all in all, it's still a worrisome development.

Here is the Habs' statement:

"Forward Kirby Dach will not join the team on the road in Philadelphia. Last week, Dach was diagnosed with a non-co-vid related illness, which has kept him out of the game, since February 16. Medical testing and a thorough evaluation of his condition determined that the illness symptoms experienced were related to a lower body injury."

News from Joel Edmundson

By the way, the organization also mentions that the process of getting defenseman Joel Edmundson back into shape is progressing well and that an additional update will be made in his case, by the end of this week.
