This afternoon reports are surfacing that hockey legend Jaromir Jagr is dealing with a major injury that could prevent him from playing during his 37th season of pro hockey.

Hockey legend Jaromir Jagr is still trying to continue his hockey career at the age of 52. Despite retiring from the NHL many years ago Jaromir Jagr has played with the team he is an owner of Rytři Kladno in Czech Extraliga. In his ramp up training for the 2024-25 seasons he has suffered a torn hamstring according to an announcement he made on Instagram

I have something to tell you. I know you're asking why I'm not playing in any pre-season games. Unfortunately, I was injured. I know that you supported me a lot and because of you I will not give up and I am training anyway. Back as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.

He would go on to explain further how the injury happened. According to Jaromir Jagr, he was ramping up his training for the season and was told by physiotherapist Pavel Kolář not to try what he used to in his prime. Of course, the competitive Jaromir Jagr did not heed those warnings and ended up with a torn hamstring.

When I talked to the physiotherapist Pavel Kolář about the fact that I would like to properly train, he warned me not to do anything that my body is not used to.

Of course, I didn't listen to him... I went for a run. Not the sprints I used to do uphill, but normally straight. But I put weights on my ankles and tore my hamstring.

That was about five days ago. Pavel said it would be three to six weeks. We'll see how it heals.

With just a few weeks before the beginning of the Czech Extraliga season. Kladno is set to start their season against Dynamo Pardubice. If Jaromir Jagr is able to be back within the 3 weeks he is hoping he would be back for the season opener. If he is out the full six weeks he would miss the first game by 11 days.

As the hockey season comes closer we will continue to update Jaromir Jagr's status in pursuit of his 37th pro hockey season at an astounding 52 years old.
