If there is one thing that is certain about the Habs' success right now, despite the loss of 10 regulars from the lineup, it is that the coach is doing a tremendous job of getting his players together to prepare them to go to war every game, no matter who they play.

The Tricolore's head coach, Martin St-Louis, is building a culture of hard work and perseverance in his team, which is exactly what he was when he played in the NHL.

We take it for granted, but it must be said.

As you know, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes recently claimed forward Chris Tierney from the Florida Panthers.

In connection with the arrival of the new number 67 in the CH's entourage, we witnessed a special scene at the club's practice.

Even if most experts agree that Tierney is just passing through Montreal, that didn't stop St-Louis from taking long minutes to talk with Tierney and to get into his story.

Imagine how important and welcome he must have felt.

As soon as he arrived, his new "coach" took the time to have a good one-on-one chat with him in the middle of practice on a game day.

Again, this is a situation we take for granted with Martin St-Louis, but if you knew how extremely rare it is to see an NHL head coach do this, especially with a depth guy, and especially with a guy who may not be in town for very long.

Martin St-Louis is the real deal and his work is simply outstanding. Not for nothing do we hear regularly that his players could break down a wall for him.
