Tonight, the Florida Panthers were crowned the 2024 Stanley Cup Champions.

In a surprising twist, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to the most valuable player of the playoffs, despite being on the losing team. However, McDavid didn't show up for the trophy presentation, raising eyebrows and sparking controversy.

Connor McDavid waited for every Oiler to go through the handshake line before leaving the ice.

Left it all out there 🔥

Although McDavid was held scoreless in the final two games of the Stanley Cup Final, his record-setting performances throughout the playoffs secured him the prestigious award.

McVP 🏆

Connor McDavid has won the Conn Smythe Trophy!

He had 42 points (8G, 34A) in 25 games played

McDavid winning mvp is so F** rockstar. And there's no way he even gives a s** about that. Which I love. Dialed in on the cup. He'll get it one day

Panthers fans were upset that their star goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, didn't win the Conn Smythe. But for Bobrovsky, a Stanley Cup victory likely outweighs any individual accolade.
