A 34-Year-Old Veteran Signs a PTO in the NHL

After being released from his professional tryout contract with the New York Rangers, 34-year-old veteran defenseman Matt Bartkowski has agreed to terms on a professional tryout contract with the Rochester Americans of the American League.

Drafted in the seventh round by the Florida Panthers in 2008, Bartkowski played 256 NHL games with the Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and Minnesota Wild. His last NHL game was in the 2020-21 season.

In 72 games last season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he had 16 points, including four goals.
