Corey Perry Gives Oilers Teammates Reality Check ahead of the Playoffs

Corey Perry is a veteran that's played on the biggest stage the NHL has to offer, and now he's given his Edmonton Oilers teammates a harsh reality check.

The Edmonton Oilers have been playing well as of late, finding themselves in the second spot in the Pacific Division, but with years of playoff failure under their belt, their fans will remain cautiously optimistic. With veterans like Evander Kane, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman and so many others, there's reasons to be hopeful, but now Corey Perry has offered a word of warning for this team.





Despite big wins in recent times, Head Coach Kris Knoblauch has made several changes ahead of their blockbuster showdown with the Toronto Maple Leafs, with Perry seemingly reacting to players potentially complaining about the situation.


In 16 games since joining the Oilers, Perry has tallied 4 goals and 5 assists, becoming a consistently physical presence in the team's bottom six, and if a veteran like that can accept his role, it goes a long way to the rest of the team buying in.

Despite not winning a Cup, Perry has made several appearances in the Stanley Cup Finals for Montreal and Tampa Bay in recent times, and he knows what it takes to get it done when the playoffs go deep. Now, the team will focus on Toronto and the challenges they represent, but with such a talented team, if they can all buy in like Perry, this team will be a major handful when the playoffs roll around.
